“Buffalo Soldier” is more than an exhibit - it is a true American History story stretching well over 200 years.  Historically, with a few exceptions, the depiction of the African American within American History has been both scanty and unrepresentative.  “Buffalo Soldier” recognizes the history of the African American, in the US Armed Forces, who served and fought with heroism at home and abroad.  “Buffalo Soldier” is unique for several reasons: 1) the subject matter has never been dealt with so comprehensively, 2) there has never been a better vehicle that taps the emotional wellspring of pride, accomplishment, and identification our young people so desperately need, and 3) the “Buffalo Soldier” mini exhibit.
